LCD Advertising: The game changer in advertising

One of the most efficient ways to inform people about a product or service is by advertising. While most of the entertainment sources and channels are now filled with a lot of advertising, it apparently may seem not to be working because it might feel quite annoying to be honest. Nevertheless, the results from advertising is quite impressive. Businesses spend a lot of money on advertising because it’s worth it.

Think about a very basic concept, assume that you are in need of product and a company sells that product. For that company to make a sale and for you to be able to buy that product, a channel or connection has to be made between these two points; the buying and selling point. This connection is established by means of advertising. You would have to be aware of such a company’s product’s existence at first, then you will read through it’s content, take feedback and recommendation before taking a decision to buy it or any other, but the first most important thing is to inform. Advertising is the best way for that.

Over the last few decades, advertisement forms have changed a lot. The pace of technological change has exponentially grown over the last 10-15 years. With so many rapid changes around the world, no sector has remained untouched, including advertisement. Previously, the advertisements were given in roadside banners, signboards, newspapers, and other paper based forms, then came in the electronic media like TV and radio, but now with the advent of digital media the forms have evolved a lot.

Street signs were static, contained a fixed imagery and wording with the advertisements. Then came in the slide changing advertisements, which still, were multiple static slides, changing sides. Later, a bit of dynamism was introduced by neon lights but the real game changer is when LCD was introduced into the world of advertisements.

LCD advertisements are a part of the new wave of advertisement forms which is digital signage. Digital signage is exactly what it means, signage which utilises digital technology like LCD, LED and other similar ones. LCD means Liquid Crystal Display and this consists of a flat panel which electronically displays image, text and moving pictures.

The introduction of LCD has opened up a completely new horizon in the world of advertisements as it is capable of showing completely dynamic pictures, video, and even sound. The option to change advertisements at any time was another notable feature. In the beginning, it was used for personalised home use, like TV and computer monitors but soon it made its way into the advertisement world.

People could see multiple advertisements in a short span of time, the advertisers were able to bombard their viewers with what they want to show. One of the key aspects of advertising in a world full of so much visual noise now, is to gain attention. The bright colours, moving pictures, illuminated panel was an effective way to capture attention and show the content of the advertisers.

According to multiple sources, almost 70% of people engage with the content shown through digital signage. They spend longer times viewing and the reach is quite high, almost a 70% over a span of 30 days. Interestingly, 19% of consumers made impulse purchases after being convinced by a digital advertisement.

These statistics are far more effective than the traditional methods of advertisement and that’s why, with all of these reasons combined, it can be easily said the LCD advertisement has changed the advertising game for everyone.
